NEW PRISON CAMP.
AFFORESTATION AT TONGARIRO.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Taihape, Tuesday. It is stated on good authority that the Government intends to acquire several hundreds of acres of land in the vicinity of the Tongariro National Park for the purpose of establishing a prison camp in connection with the scheme of afforestation by.prison labour. It is understood that accommodation will be provided for 25 men.
