DrniKo last session, the Minister for Public- Works was urged by members to have tire new Parliamentary Buildings pushed on so that they might, as soon as possible, be rescued from the unhealthyatmosphere of the present temporary chamber It was suggested that the work of erection might be undertaken in such a way that the main efforts would be directed to a complete new chamber for the House of Representatives. Today, officers of the Department conferred with the contractor, and an arrangement was arrived at by whit h the new chamber will be put in hand almost immediately and will, it is hoped, be ready for the 1915 session. This will not. mean delay in the case of the other parts of the buildings. The whole contract is to be completed by December 12. 1015, and the contractors expect to 1... through by then : but they will concentrate a spc iai force of men on the Representative Chamber, so that it will he a\ ,il.it,le for use at a considerably earlier date.
