THE EXHIBITION MANAGEMENT.

Sir,—From tho inception has any thought or consideration been given to the exhibitors, except pay, pay, pay ? Why was the building not so constructed that the public should have to pass through same to get to Wonderland, thus giving some assurance to the exhibitors that they would receive a fair mea sure of patronage from the public to view their exhibits which is the entire object of going to tho big expense of exhibiting, instead of the great hall of industries getting the cold shoulder, whilst Wonderland and the band in some other remote part of the grounds lure the people from the sum and substance of the Exhibition. Let anyone ask themselves what aro the essential features of an exhibition ? Is it a side show or band entertainment, etc. ? or is it the place for display of manufactures? I fancy the Exhibition is named mining and industrial. Well, then, all else is parasitical, and why ai"e they not k?pt in their place? Music inside the building as well as out and all other forms of entertainment in the background of the main building through which all must pass to reach such, is, I think, how things should have been arranged. Where is the seating accommodation within the building where elderly ladies and ladies with children can sit and rest a wee while? Most of the dear souls get so tired before they get half round that they have to give up in despair before viewing half the exhibits, because they are. wearied and worn out with so much continual trudging, and not a seat to be seen anywhere. What is the use of an exhibition from an exhibitor's point of view if, after he has gone to a big expense in displaying his goods, the executive do not make any attempt to induce the publio

to take an interest in same. It is quite simply done, if the various appointments are given proper attention, and I would guarantee to run out a plan to suit the most fastidious in a very short time. There is no excuse for the present state of affairs. Why do they exist? Yes, why ? Is it disinterestedness in the main issue, incompetence, or £ s. d. at any cost ? In conclusion, is this sort of thing to continue? Are the exhibitors and public going to stand by without protest? Tho Exhibition is a matter of public interest. Then why not be up and doing and demand fair treatment? Ipso Facto.
