H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND.

PRAISE FOR CAPTAIN HALSEY. OTHER TOURS SUGGESTED. FOR THE EMPIRE'S GOOD. By Telesrraoh—Press Association—Copyright. (Received December £1, 5.5 p.m.) London, December -20. The record of ttic world's cruise of the battleship New Zealand has been published by the Admiralty. The Lords of the Admiralty stale that they recognise the high opinion that the officers and men of the ship earned iu every port and the exemplary conduct of the crew, and they congratulate Captain Halsey on the result of the cruise. Mr. Lewis Harcourt (Secretary of State for the Colonies) pays a tribute to the services rendered by Captain Halsey to the Colonial Office. Captain Halsey, in a despatch to the Admiralty, suggests that if an Imperial squadron could periodically visit the Dominions an immense amount of good to the Empire would accrue. A suggestion similar to that now made by Capt. Halsey in regard to periodical tour.*; by Imperial warships was made by the Frimo Minister of New Zealand (Hon. W. F. Mossey) in his speech at the reception given in the Auckland Town Hall to Capt. Halsey and his officers in April last. Mr. Massey added that if he attended the next Imperial conference, he would then bring the matter forward.
