FLAXMILLING MACHINERY.

THE GOVERNMENT BONUS. ("BY telegraph.—press association".] Palmerston North, Saturday. A special meeting of the FlaxmClers' Association was held to-day to consider the Government offer of a bonus of £12,000 for improved flaxmilling machinery. There aTe 40 applicants for the bonus. A committee was set up to examine applications, and to test those competing machines or processes considered worthy ot trial, and to make a recommendation to the Government as to payment of the bonus. A committee was also appointed to arrange for power. It was decided that the committee would be ready for the inspection of machinery from the third Monday in January to April 30.
