NEW BY-LAWS.

DELETION OF PROVISIONS. The by-laws recently drawn up by tho City Council, and which liavo been published in detail, ■were adopted by tho council last night, with certain exceptions. Members discussed tho by-laws at some length, and eventually, it was decided to delete the provisions dealing with tho affixing of signs to verandahs or hoardinns, the suspension of lamps from verandahs, tho hanging of signs over streets, and tho erection ot signs on the roofs of ■buildings. The Mayor (Mr. C. J. Parr) and members agreed that the by-laws which had been drafted to provide for the' matters mentioned were too drastic, and should be deleted.
