DISCOVERY BY ACCIDENT. New York, December 4. Wishing to establish bis identity clearly in order to obtain a pension, " Frederick Thornmann, who is an inmate of the Soldiers' Home at Quiiicv, Illinois, asked the chaplain, the Rev. 0. 1). Hamm a year ago to write to his birthplace' in Saxony for a copy of his baptism certificate. The chaplain did so, and word has now been received that Thornmann. who came to the United States many years ago, and fought in the Civil War' is heir to an estate of £2000. '
