MAIN ROADS.

Sir,—l pee by the Hkiumi that the Minister is going to consider what are " main" rolids in tho recess. Now, I would like to suggest that Auckland does not let tho matter go by default. Auckland has a great " South" Bond and a great " North'' Road, surely tho Queen City is entitled to at least another, say, a great " East" Road, via llowick, Clcvedon, Hunua, Hauraki Plains, Paeroa, and East Coast'' This could be the forerunner cf a railway on the same route; suitable also for a motor mail and passenger service. City motorists and settlers in the districts affected ought not to let this matter be dropped. Sam. A. Browne. Clovcdon, November 29, 1913.
