BURIED ALIVE.

IRISH HOUSES COLLAPSE.

DEATH-ROLL OVER 60.

SEARCH AMONG RUINS.

PATHETIC STREET SCENES.

STRIKERS CALL A TRUCE.

STUNNED BY DISASTER. By Telegraph Press Association Copyright London, September 3. The loss of life caused by the collapse of the two old tenements in Dublin yesterday cannot yet be properly estimated, but the death-roll is well over 60. There is little hope that any of those buried remain alive.

The fire brigade is still working among the debris, and a corps of doctors and nurses is in attendance.

Pathetic scenes were witnessed in the streets. Great crowds gathered throughout the night. Parents seeking their children knelt in groups on the pavement at intervals and prayed. The rescue work is attended by much risk, and several narrow escapes have occurred, while two of the rescuers have had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Three children on the opposite side of the street were crushed to death by the falling masonry.

A youth named Salmon saved two children and returned to save his sister. The roof collapsed and both were killed.

The search of the ruins was op-a-tinued all through -the night. Towards morning fire broke out amid the debris.

The strikers are silent, stunned with the horror of the disaster.
