NEW FACTOR IN WAR.
IGNITION OF EXPLOSIVES. BY VIOLET RAYS. FROM 15 MILES' DISTANCE. Times-Sydney Sun Special Cable. Pabis, August 10. The Minister for War (M. Etienne) was to-day an interested spectator of experiments made by an Italian engineer with regard to the ignition of explosives at long distances by means of infra violet rays. The invention was successful at a range of 15 miles.
