TALISMAN. £23,339 FROM 4020 TONS. TOTAL TO DATE, £2,051,764. SINKING 'WOODSTOCK SHAFT. During the month of July the Talisman Consolidated Gold Mining Company crushed and treated 4020 tons of ore for a return of bullion, valued at £23,339 5s Bd, compared with the return for the corresponding period of last year, when 4200 tons yielded £23,298, this shows an incieae*.- ■ *i. despite the smaller tonnage dealt with. DIVIDEND DECLARED.

DISTRIBUTION OF £30,187. Tho Board of Directors of the Talisman Ccn...<-'i.u..wu Gold Milling Company have declared a quarterly dividend (the 35th) of Is 9d per share, payable on September 4, on all shares on the register on August 14. This will absorb £30,187 10s, and will bring the total dividends and bonuses declared since reconstruction to £818,909 7s 6d. The books will be closed on August 28 to September 4, both days inclusive.

WAIHI MINE.

ROYAL REEF AT 1300 ft LEVEL. [BY TEIiEGItAPH, —OWN COBUESPON'DENa'. ] Waihi, Thursday. The Royal Reef has been intercepted in the crosscut from No. 5 shaft at tho 1300 ft level in the Waihi mine. When passed through in sinking the shaft, the lode was not payable, but nothing can bo said as to the value or width of . the ore body at the 1300 ft level until further work has been done upon it. The following cablegram was despatched by the management of the ,Waibi Gold Mining Company to the London office last night:—"Number 10 level: Royal lode east, 29ft 'driven, value 8s 6d per ton; west driving on south or main section, 15ft driven, value 99s per ton. Empire lode west, 47ft driven, value 29.« 6d per ton. Martha lode, south section, crosscut at 579 ft west, full width of lode, 12ft, value 4s 6d per ton. Dreadnought lode, east of No. 4 shaft crosscut, Ssft driven, value 41s per tori. East of Bath crosscut, 29ft driven, value 90s 6d per ton; west of Bath crosscut, 24ft driven, value 42s 6d per ton. The width of the lode varies from 3ft to 4ft. Welcome lode, south section, west of No. 2 shaft crosscut, commencing at 56ft, 34ft driven, value 12s per ton. The width of the lode varies from 6ft to 7ft."
