[BT TELECBAPH. — CORBESPONDENT.] Wanganui, Wednesday. A man named Lagan was the victim. of a very painful accident the other day, and the incident serves to show, the value, of first aid knowledge to ;■, all shooting men. It transpires that with a companion, the unfortunate man was shooting near Ngutuwera, and in attempting to discharge a refractory cartridge case he knocked the stock of his gun on the ground, .• when the cartridge in the other barrel went off and blew away the first and second fingers of his right hand. Fortunately his companion was an adept at first aid, and after temporary assistance had been given, help was summoned, and Lagan was driven to the Waitotara station, and thence travelled to Wanganui. Medical attention was procured and the injured fingers amputated.;
