STOCKS AND SHARES.
BUSINESS DONE. YESTERDAY
! A fair amount of business was trans- ! acted on the Stock Exchange yesterday. In mining lines much. attention Was again given to Waihi shares, which sold at from 36s to 36s 6d, to 36s 3d, while further buyers remained at 365, and sellers at 36s 3d.: A sale in Talismans was reported at 395, and more were on offer at that price, buyers quoting 38s 9d. There were sellers of Waihi Grand Junctions at 17s Bd, with buyers offering 17s . 7cL •■. There was more active inquiry for investment stocks. Bank of New Zealands were sold at £11 4s, and further buyers came forward at £11 2s 6d. but late sellers held for fill ss. New Zealand Insurances were wanted at £5 3s, sellers quoting £5 4s. Buyers and sellers of South British Insurances quoted respectively 74s and .755. Union Steam Ships changed hands (ex dividend) at 435; Auckland Tramways (ord.) were dealt in at 24s 3d; and Wilsons Portland Cements (pref.) saw business done at 31s.
