BIBLE IN STATE SCHOOLS.

A demonstration of supporters of the Bible in State B'choola League will be held in the large Town Hall on "Whit Monday evening, May 12, when addresses will be delivered on various aspects of the question. Miss Butler, headmistress of the Girls' Grammar School, will speak on " The Bible as a Characterbuilder." The Rev. "W. A. Hay, who has had practical experience of the working ot the system in Australia, will speak on ■' What the Scheme is and How it Works." Brigadier Vince will speak on " The Scheme and the Salvation Army." It is hoped that his professional engagements will allow Mr. N R. Mackenzie, inspector of schools, to be present to speak on " The Scheme and the Teachers." Canon Garland, the. organising secretary of the league, will deliver an address. The Mayor will preside. A choir 01 300 voices will lead the singing. .
