BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.] There was no improvement in tho business done on the Stock Exchange yesterday. In standard stocks, Bank of New Zeiidands were in demand at £11 6s 6d, and a sale was recorded at £11 7s. National Bank buyers advanced from 97s 6d to 995, with sellers at 1003. New Zealand Insurances sold at £5 0s 6d, and more could have been placed at that figure, but sellers held firmly for £5 Is 6d. Standard Insurance buyers offered 31s 3d, and although sellers declined 3d to 31s 9d, no sales were effected. Northern Coals were sold at 10s 9d, with a further demand at 10s sd. Auckland Gas realised 29s 3d, with a continued demand at that figure and sellers at 29s 6d. Bnyora of Auckland Trams (pref.) advanced 3d to 20s 6d. but sellers held firmly for 21s. Auckland Trams (ord.) remained at the previous day's figures of sellers 25s and buyers 24s 6d. H.M. Arcades were done at 20s. A sale in Wilsons Portland Cements was reported at 31s, and raoro were on the market at that price with closing buyers at 30s. In mining lines Waihis declined from sellers 31s 3d and buyers 30s 6d to sellers 30s 6d and buyerß 29s 6d. A sale took place at the first call at 20a 6d. Waihi Grand Junctions brought 20s; sellers dropped from 20s 6d to 19s 9d and buyers to 19s 6d. Talismans were m steady demand at 36s 3d; sellers withdrew at the tfnal call, but previously offeined at 36s 6d.
