PROGRESS OF WORKS.
The enginfc report on the board's works stated generally that good progress was being made. Shed Hon Queen Street Wharf was nearly finished, and the asphalt floor was being laid. The two embankments for the Mechanics' Bay reclamation were rapidly nearing each other. The installation of one of the new pumps at Calliope Dock was practically finished, and the second was well forward. The New Zealand Power-boat Association wrote recently to the Auckland Harbour Board suggesting that the board should provide moorings within the protected yacht anchorages and make a charge for them. The harbourmaster submitted an adverse report, and the request was declined. The report of the chairman on finance and works, submitted at the last meeting of the board and referred to the committee, was formally adopted. The secretary of the board was appointed to be returning officer for the election of representatives of the payers of dues at the coming Harbour Board elections. ... Mr. W. ing-rooms. - ' The tender of Mr. J. H. Adams for the erection of sheds I and J, on the Queen Street Wharf, for £17,229 2s, was accepted on the recommendation v of. the committee. „■-.",• „,.
