EASTER HOLIDAYS.
A strong list of attractions is provided for the Easter holidays both on land and sea Good Friday will be observed as a close holiday, and there will'be no tramway service. On that day the tramway employees will hold their annual picnic. The Auckland Racing Club's autumn meting will be held on the following day and Easter Monday. A cricket match will be played between teams representing the Petone and Newmarket railway workshops -on Easter Saturday and Mon- ! day, for the Myers Shield. Representatives of the Wednesday Cricket Association from Wellington and Auckland will try conclusions in the Domain on Easter Monday and the following Tuesday. Two matches, extending over tho two days, will be played, , one between senior and the other between junior teams. The Railway Department will issue excursion tickets from Tuesday next up to March 24, both days inclusive. The Northern Steamship Company will run several excursion trips on Easter Monday. The Ngatiawa will leave for Cowes Bay, Waiheke, on that day at 9 a.m. ; the Waiotahi for Awaroa Bay, Waiheke, at 9.15 a.m.; the Ngapuhi for Kawau Island, at 9 a.m.; and the Clansman for Waiwera Hot Springs, at 9.15 a.m. The steamers will leave the above places for Auckland at 4.30 p.m.
