STOCKS AND SHARES.

BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY. There was no improvement on the Stock Exchange yesterday. In standard lines Bank of New Zealands were in demand at £11 ss, but no sellers offered. National Bank rights were sold at 20e. South British Insurance changed hands at 755. There were further sellers at 765, and buyers at 74s 9d. Standard Insurances were wanted at 31s; sellers held off. Northern Coals were again sold at lis 2d. Auckland Gas realised 30s, with further buyers at 29s 9d and sellers at 30s 3d. Wilsons Portland Cements (ord.) were on the market at 30s, with buyers at 295. Mining lines were particularly dull. Waihis were quoted at, sellers 31s 9d, buyers 31s. Talismans had buyers at 35s 3d, sellers asking 365. Waihi Grand Junctions remained firm. Owners asked 21s 3d, and buyers offered 21s.
