The Hon. Thomas. Mackenzie was presented to His Majesty "on appointment as High Commissioner for Now Zealand." The presentation was made bv the Secretary of State. Colonel A. W. Robin, C.8., C.M.G., of the New Zealand Staff Corps, was presented by the Inspector-General of the! Home Forces "on appointment to tho Dominion • Section, - General Staff, War? Office." In Hampstead Parish Church the memory of Bishop George "Augustus Selwyn is never likely to be forgotten. Now Zealanders will recollect that it was at that church, in July, 1809, that he was, christened ; they will also remember that the centenary of the baptism was celebrated by a great festival service on July 7, 1909. Last June, the. Bishop of Lodon, opening new vestries. ' and dedicating a morning chapel, dedicated! also a memorial to the Bishop, to which very special interest attaches. The old Georgian font of the church, originally erected in 174-7, was renovated in 1885. Tho bowl was retained, but the stem was discarded, and for many years was stored in a _ cupboard and forgotten. When it was re- ■ cently found and recognised, it was by a happy thought incorporated Tn the piscina ' of the new morning chapel, and the piscina made a memorial to tho Bishop and two : of his brothers, who were christened in the old font. The inscription on the tablet runs: "A.D.MQ. In affectionate memory of George Augustus Selwyn, 18091878, .first Bishop of New Zealand, 19tb Bishop of Lichnold; Thomas Kynastoa Selwyn, 1812-1834, Scholar of Trinity College Cambridge; and the lit. Hon. Charles Jasper Selwyn, Knt., Q.C., 1313-1869, MP. for Cambridge University, 1559-1868 Solici-tor-General, 1867-8 Lord Justice of Appeal in Chancery, 1868, this piscina incorporating the stem of the font, in which they were baptised, is set up by William Selwyn, Prebendary of Hereford, elder eon of the Bishop, 1912." Prebendary . Selwyn was present at the service of dedication. In the vestry hangs a fine copy of Cousin's engraving of the Bishop's portrait by Richmond,
