ARMED CATTLE-STEALER.

PREPARED TO USE REVOLVER.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PBJESS ASSOCIATION.] Goes, Monday. A man, William John Richards, with several aliases, was arrested at Gore on Saturday, on a, charge of stealing three cattle at Edendale on February 17, and stealing a bicycle at Waianawa on January 3. Accused was brought before the justices of the peace and remanded for eight days.

When arrested accused denied the cattle stealing, but subsequently admitted it. When searched a five-chambered loaded revolver was found on him, and a number of cartridges. He stated that he purchased the revolver for the purpose of using it if molested while stealing the cattle.
