LATE BISHOP LENIHAN.

[ MEMORIAL MASS CELEBRATED. 1 A solemn memorial requiem mass was , celebrated at St. Patrick's Cathedral yesj terday for the repose of the soul of the v late Bishop Lemhan, who died at Whangarei on February 21, 1910. Bishop Cleary j presided in the sanctuary, and supporting J him were Monsignor Gilian, V.G., Father '.' O'Doherty (who celebrated Mass), Deacon . Father Finn, Sub-Deacon Father Clarke, t and Father O'Malley. Fathers Doyle, I Kerrane, and McLaughlin were also present in the sanctuary. 3 The solemn Gregorian Mass was fittingly r rendered by a choir of male voices, augmented for the occasion. After Mass, the I absolution was pronounced at the catai falque by Bishop Cleary. Th© High Altar was beautifully draped in sombre black, i with gold trimmings, the surroundings ! being draped in episcopal purple. At the : conclusion of service, the " Dead March" i from a Saul" was played, the congregation t islanding. ' '
