BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

The volume of business transacted on the Stock Exchange yesterday was small, but a good demand continued for investment stocks. A transaction in New Zealand Insurances was reported at 94s 6d, while more were on offer at 95s 6d, with no buyers . quoting. New Zealand Portland Cements were exchanged at 22s 6d. Waihis were quitted at 32s 3d, and more we"e obtainable at that figure, while buyers offered 325. Waihi Grand Junctions were wanted at 22s 6d. Waihi-Paeroas were on offer at a reduced rate, sellers asking 33s and buyers offering 30s. •
