CHEAP JEWELLERY.

According to evidence given before the Jewellers' Wages Board in Sydney last, week bv Mr. Evan Jones, president- "of the Master Jewellers' Association, the trade stamp of jewellery should not bo accepted seriously. The smaller shops, which had to cater for a special class of customer, had to resort to other methods. Instances had occurred of cheap half-hoop rings being sold as 9-carat, when, as a matter of fact, they were only 2-carat. In such cases tho profit was made out of the gold, and not, out of .the workmanship.
