UNIONISTS PREDICT GENERAL

By Telegraph Press Association.— Copyright r _ London, December 12. The discussion in the committee stage on the, 48 original clauses of the Home Rule Bill was completed in the House of Commons yesterday. The remaining six clauses were passed by the aid of the guiildtine.
The House will discuss the new clauses and the schedules to-day. Trie amendment moved by Mr. Herbert Samuel (Postmaster-Gene-ral), transferring . the Irish post office to Imperial control in times of national emergency, was carried. The Unionists sharply criticised the alteration of the time for the meeting of the • Irish Parliament winch was made by an amendment moved by Sir Rufus Isaacs (AttorneyGeneral).
Mr. Bonar Law (Leader of the Unionist party) saicl that the Government wag contemplating a general election after the Bill had been passed and before it could come into operation. This was a wicked proceeding, and was certain to result in disorder.
The Prime Minister (Mi*. Asquith) denied that the Government had any ulterior object in proposing the alteration.
