In connection with the accident which bcfel Fred. Morris at Messrs. Mason and Struther's warehouse on Wednesday it was stated that several bones in one of his ankles had been broken. Dr. Hope, however, examined the foot and stated that no bones had ,been fractured, and a further examination under X-rays at the hospital confirmed the doctor's diagnosis. Morris is progressing well and will be able to leave the institution in a few days' time.
The ad.-writinp competition in connection with George Davies, Ltd., the Modern Tailors, which closed on November 30, has been an immense success, a tremendous number of entries having been received from all parts of the Dominion. The 12 best ads. were so uniformly good as to make selection very difficult. The first prize (£2O) has Been awarded to Mrs. H. T. Gibson, Russellstreet, Wailii, and the second prize (£5) to Mr. George Groom, 30, Haydn-street., Auckland. The first, prize ad. will Iks published next Saturday, December 21, in this paper. The directors are considering giving several special prizes in addition to those previously announced.
