PARLIAMENT IN NEED OF REST

London, December 11. The Prime Minister (Mr. Asquith), in replying to-day to a United Kingdom Alliance deputation, said that he would be dishonest if he said that there was a reasonable prospect of a large temperance measure being introduced next year.
Next year's session, he . said, be short, as otherwise the Parliamentary machinery . would break down. Progress, he added, must be made within the limits of human endurance. •
