RUBBER ATROCITIES.
OUTRAGES ON INDIANS.
CHILDREN'S BRAINS DASHED
OUT.
By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright. London, December 11. At the inquiry into the Putumayo rubber outrages Sir Roger Casement (British Consul at Rio Janiero), who first reported on the horrors, was recalled to-day. He recounted an Indian judge's statement that an agent of the company surprised an Indian settlement in the forest. The parents fled, and the hunters dashed the brains of 18 children out against the trees.
The agent was arrested, but Julio Arana, one of the directors of the company, secured his release.
