THE WHITE VEIL.
Considerable interest was evinced in the ceremony of reception, which took place at St. Mary's Convent, Ponsonby, on Sunday afternoon last, at the Feast of Our Lady of tho Immaculate Conception. With the exception of one sister from New South Wales all tho other candidates hailed from Ireland. The beautiful chapel was exquisitely decorated, and the music incidental to the ceremony was very finely rendered by the convent choir, assisted by various members of the Sacred Heart Church choir.
The Right Rev. Mgr. Gillan, V.G., officiated in the sanctuary, being assisted by the Revs. H. Holbrook (adm.), Furlong (Devonport), and Ford (St. Benedict's). The Very Rev. Archdeacon Brodie, V.G., was sufficiently recovered from his recent severe illness to be present, and with him was the Rev. Father Finn (Sacred Heart, Fonsonby). Tho young ladies who receivod the white veil were Misses Madge Tully (Bray, Co. Wicklow), Nora Collins (Dunkalk), Annie Dunoyer (Dublin), Theresa Perkins (New South Wales), and Elizabeth Dulsh (Clare), who will in future be known as Sisters M. Angela, M. Xaveria, M. Colette, M. Ursula, and M. Ethelreda.
