A WELCOME IN AUCKLAND.
Trß Governor-designate of New Zealand, ; Lord Liverpool, and Lady Liverpool, will arrive in Auckland by the R.M.S. Malwa 'on Wednesday, December 18. As far M is known at present the vessel will reach this port shortly after daybreak, so that Lord and Lady Liverpool will have "■ the whole day in Auckland. They leave for Wellington the same evening. Captain . Shaw, A.D.C., of the Rifle Guards, is a .': ■}. member of the party. ■ { Until Lord Liverpool is sworn in by the
Chief Justico at Wellington he cannot, k. constitutionally, be welcomed as Governor.
