CROWN.

£3085 FROM 2077 TONS.

TOTAL TO DATE. £840,477.

During the month of November the New Zealand Crown Mines crushed and treated 2077 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £3085. Compared with the return for the corresponding period of last year, when 2020 tons yielded £4598, this shows a decrease of £1515. The total amount won from the mine to date Ls £840,477, as shown in the following table of details :—

MORE PICKED STONE.

Information was received .from the manager of the Waitongi mine, Thames, yesterday afternoon, to the effect that he had secured 301b of picked stone from the intermediate level, while gold was still showing in the reef. On the previous day 401b of picked stone was obtained from the same level.

At the beginning of the week, Waitangi shares were quoted with buyers at Bcl and sellers at 9d. Yesterday sales wero made at 9£d and lOd, while later buyers offered lid and sellers quoted ll£d.

PAEROA WARDEN'S COURT.

Paeroa, Thursday.

At the Warden's Court at Paeroa today the following applications were granted by Mr. F. J. Burgess, warden: —F. J. Butcher, residence site at Waitekauri; A. C. Gordon, residence site at Waitekauri; W. Brokenshire, surrender of residence ate at Karangahake; P. O'Neill, residence si to at Karangahake j R. W. C. Nicholl, surrender of Last Chance and King George Extended special claims at Waini; H. McCormick, surrender of residence site. The New Zealand Jubilee Gold Mining Company, Limited, applied for protection for six months for the Jubilee Extended special claim, four special sites, and four water-races at Waitekauri. Mr. Porritt, attorney for the company, stated that the company had gone into liquidation, and ho "had received instructions to realise the property and plants, and wind-up the company's affairs in New Zealand. The application was granted. S. A. Shaw applied for six months' protection for the Waikino-Waionioko special claim at Owharoa to enablo money to be raised to sink a shaft, the. upper levels having already been tested. The application was granted. E. G. Baddeley applied for six months' protection for the Owharoa special claim at Owharoa to give him time to drive a low level tunnel. The application was recommended to the Minister for Mines. The New Comstock Gold Mining Companv applied for six months! protection for the Comstock special claim. at Karangahake. " A declaration by tho secretary stated that £1363 had been spent by the company in testing the upper levels. The conclusion had been come to that the only chance was in the lower levels. It would be necessary to work through the Talisman ground, but the necessary permission could not bo obtained at present, as it would interfere with the Talisman workings. The application was recommended to the Minister for Mines. Six months' protection for the Advance special claim at Maratoto was granted to the Silveretream Mines, Limited.
