This race looked to be so entirely at the. mercy of Prince Palatine that some of tlio professional backers laid • heavy odds oil him, to lose many thousands. Prince Palatine does best when «eht along l , and AVootton's instructions were to come a respectable gallop with him, which ho did, but, to tho horror of the plungers, Aleppo was travelling: much the better half a mile from home.
