The Balkan conference will be opened in London on Friday next. •' Prior to the signing of the armistice Greece besought her ; allies not to agree to terms so advantageous to Turkey. It is ' stated, however, that Greece is expected to eventually sign the .armistice, and that in any case she will take part in the peace conference next week. A Turkish sortie at Scutari ended disastrously, the Montenegrins inflicting a severe defeat after a fierce battle lasting 28 hours. It is stated that three Russian banks have advanced Bulgaria a loan of a million sterling.
