ALLEGED FOOLISH BOAST.

"V.'';.. .•;," London, November 18. ; The Attorney-General (Sir Rufus Isaacs) has declined, while the charge upon which Francis Richard Shackleton (brother of Sir E. Shackletoh) was arrested is still sub judice, to inform Mr. L. Ginnell (Nationalist member for Westmeath North) whether ■ Shackleton had access to the room in Dublin Castle, -from which the Crown jewels were stolen in 1907, or whether he subsequently boasted that he would not be prosecuted, •- as his conviction would involve others.

This office is directly opposite the State apartments, and behind it, at. 'he entrance' from Cork.. Hill, is the' military guardroom, , outside which a sentry - was posted day and' nijfht. Policemen , were constantly on duty in both the Tipper and lower yards. With the office thus well guarded.- it was almost impossible-to conceive that anybody ccmld have ■ reached the building unobserved. The keys were 1 in t>6 possession of Sir Arthur Vicars, Ulster Kintr-of-Arms. ■'■■'.'"
