PROTEST BY THE EMPLOYEES
Two special general meetings of the Auck- , land Tramways Union wore held at the 1 Trades Hall yesterday. The " p.m.". „ shift met at 10 a.m. and the "a.m." shift met at eight p.m. Both meetings WJnI well attended. . '•■•^tf With regard to the proposal to run. *§ continuous car service on Sundays froml 12.15 p.m. onwards, it was decided by the | members at both meetings to unanimously protest against the proposal. It was argued by a number of the most prominentmembers that the union had all to lose, and nothing to gain from the suggested.: alteration. . . -.-.'] Mr. O'Connor, lecturer on behalf of the ■ National-Provident Fund , addressed;both.:] meetings at length, and explained the benefits of the scheme.
