POLICE COURT NEWS.

Tub sitting of the Police Court yesterday was presided over by Mr. F. V. Frazcr, S.M.

For insobriety, two first offenders were fined ss, one, a female, having to pay an additional 4s for cab hire. George Ritchie was made tbo subject of a prohibition order.

A charge of having disobeyed an order to contribute towards the support of an illegitimate child, was preferred against Frederick Carter. Tho defendant was remanded until Friday, bail being fixed at one surety of £100, or two of £50 each.

For failing to have the taillight of his motor-car burning after dark, Walter Guy was fined 10s, with 7s costs.

Henry Mephati, charged with having suffered the chimney of his house at Parnoil to catch fire, was fined Is, with 7s costs.
