CYCLISTS IN COLLISION.

A QUESTION OF SPEED.

A collision* at Epsom, on August 10, between a motor-cycle and an ordinary bicycle, resulted in the appearance of Jokvi K. Garrett before Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M., at the Polico Court yesterday. The defendant was charged that on the dale mentioned he indulged in furious and negligent driving, and that ho failed to keep" as far as practicable to the left side of tho road. Sub-Inspector Hendrey stated that the defendant was travelling at about 20 miles an hour, and, in addition, was on the wrong sido of the road. Three witnesses were called for the prosecution, two of them stating that the motor-cycle was travelling at a very high rate of speed, and on the wrong side of the road. The other witness gauged the speed at about) 20 miles an hour.

The case for the defendant, for whom Dr. H. D. Bamford appears, will be commenced this afternoon.
