CLUB FORMED AT AVONDALE. At a meeting held last week it was decided to form a bowling club at Avondale. A section of land containing about one and auoarter acres, with a frontage of 70ft to Great North Road, is to be purchased, the price being £575. Officers were elected as follows:— Mr. J. Ballard; president, Mr. J Potter; vice-presidents, Mr. Johnston and Mr. Allety; hon. secretary, Mr. Darrowhon. treasurer, Mr. Moon; green superintendent, Mr. Nesbitt.
! MOUNT ALBERT CLUB'S "AT HOME." _ The members of the Mount Albert Bowling Club held an *' At Home" at their grounds on Saturday, a large number of ladies and visitors being present. The afternoon, though, dull, was fine and calm and the green played well. The pretty natural surroundings of the green were enhanced by a liberal display of bunting. The Hon. Geo. . Fowlds, in a, neat speech, declared the green open for play, and Mrs. Fowlds threw the first jack. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies connected with the club.
