We may •' hope, however, that fuller knowledge of these material: advantages to be gained by amalgamating with the • city -wjH,, powerfully influence subur- : ban bodies where other arguments fail; Mr. Parr approached the question' at Parhlell last night from this practical, point of view and presented convincing arguments, w which no suburban citizen who studies local self-interest can afford to ignore. The movement now afoot, on behalf of the Greater Auckland scheme is greatly assisted by such plain expositions, for the suburbs will learn ■that- a Greater Auckland will not increase rates but must ultimately reduce them.'
