OVERSEAS CLUB.

COMING VISIT OF THE FOUNDER. A. meeting of those interested in giving a reception to Mr. Evelyn Wrench, founder and world's organiser of the* Overseas Club, who is to visit the Dominion after a tour of Canada, was held in the Chamber of Commerce last evening. Mr. H. Hunt, 'vice-president of the Auckland branch, presided, and there were about 40 present. After Mr. Hunt had briefly explained the objects of the meeting he ! asked Captain Waters (Dominion organi- | ser) to explain what other branches of the- club, and himself, were doing towards I entertaining Mr. Wrench and Miss Wrench. Captain Waters said that Mr. Wrench and his sister expected to arrive in Auck- I land on. November 24., and would stay J here for three days. They would then j tour the Dominion. He (Captain Waters) had been approached by secretaries of branches of the Overseas Club through- ■ out the Dominion, asking for Mr. Wrench ' to visit them, but as the visitor would ' only be in the Dominion until February, the time at his disposal would be too jdiort for him to accede to all the requests, j Captain Waters assured the meeting that Lord Islington would bo in Auckland at the timo of Mr. Wrench's visit, as His I Excellency, who is leaving the Dominion lon December 2, had decided to slav in, j Auckland lor a week prior to his departure.
