A WOMAN SENT TO GAOL. EFFORT TO BURN A MINISTER'S HOUSE. __ . ■ i By Telegraph.—Press Association.— London, October 21. Miss Helen Craggs, a suffragette, Has been sentenced to nine months' imprisonment on . a ' charge of attempting to set fire to Nuneharn House,' the residence of Mr. Lewis Harcourfc (secretary of State for the Colonies) on July 13. A NEW YORK ■ ARREST. (Received October 21, 10.40 p.m.) New York, October 21. A suffragette named Maud Malone, who attempted to upset a meeting that was being addressed by Mr. Woodrow Wilson, has been arrested; Miss Craggs, who is the daughter of Sir John Craggs, created a scene at Cardiff in Juno last on the occasion of the visit of King George and Queen Mary to Wales. At the ceremony of the- laying of the foundation-etone of tho Welsh National Museum by the King Miss Craggs hroko through the cordon of police and sprang at Mr. McKemia (Home Secretary), the Minister in attendance upon Their Majesties. She also made an appeal to Queen Mary on behalf of the suffragettes. After a here© struggle the woman was arrested, but was afterwards liberated. When she was arrested _ near Mr. Harcourt's residence a fortnight later she had a quantity of methylated spirits and tow in her posession.
