AUCKLAND CLUB'S RACE. Although the weather was unfavourable for flying, no less than 129 birds took part in it-be Auckland Flying Club's race from Palmerston KorfJa on Saturday. The birds ■were liberated at 7.51 a.m.. and the winner recalled Auckland about 5 p.m. Only 11 birds got through in the day. The following is the result-.— Thornton's mealy hen, 1, velocity 790.1 yds per minute: T. O. Savape's blue cock, 2, 790 yds; R. E. Widdows's black pied cock, 3, 784 yds: H. Stowoll's red oh. cock. 4. 778 yds; W. Edwards's blue ch. hen, 5. 774 yds: W. Gisby's blue ch. cock, 6, 709yda; C. Simpson's blue ch. hen, 7, 704.5yd5; C. Johnson' 6 blue cock. 8, 704.2yd5; N. Wa/idell's red ch. hen, 9. 696 yds; A. Hill's blue ch. cock. 10, 636 yds.
