Ihe Shetland pony is now considerable attention, and, being 3 §red upon a. pure basis, the question of an outcrops is not considered. It is only a century ago that an effort was made to incre;:se the size of the breed by crossing with the Norwegian pony, but It. was rot carried to any length. Since then the idea of keeping ponies small has been developed, and the limit height for a Shetland is 10] hands.
