She lived near Maitland, andjg several mornings ago met a man with whom she-, had fallen vic'ently in lfitt'jfi. but who apparently did not return ae^j affection. .Returning ]v»w crying, ska 4 wrote a letter to him -and disappeared, The man did not recede the letter till.; late at night. In the letter, 1 % which is aflectionatey worded, is made to the fact that she was : goioff/7' to " hide herself i? the deep waters 01*% the Hunter River" The letter ; also . contained ft passage to the effect that sh*-*: would be found at the spot where she ana i, her lover had fist met.
