FALL FROM A TRAMCAR.
A ROY INJURED. A J-XVE-YKAii-ul.l) boy named John Cosgrove, who resides with his parents at 26, Clarence-street. J'onsonby, met with rather a, serious accident yesterday evening as a result of a fall from a tramcar. In company with his. mother, who was carrying another child, the buy was on a licrnu Bay trajncar. When the car stopped at ..Shelly Reach Road, .Mis. (Josgruvc got oh". The boy. who was following Iter out of the car. appeared to hesitate, arid stood on the step, and. it is stated, did not jump off until the iramcar had restarted. lie fell heavily to the ground, and when picked up was bJcedin" freely from the right ear. Dr. Hope was summoned, and found thai, the boy had sustained serious injury. After an examination, the'injured lad was removed to his home. A passenger by the Iramcar stated that owing to the hoy's position on the step it might have been impossible for the conductor to see him when the signal to start the ear was given.
