Elwood Mead, the Australian irrigation expert, has arrived here in company with Sir George Reid. : In a speech on trade relations between Australia and the United States, he declared that only the assistance of Americans was required to make Australia the United States of the Southern Hemisphere. Mr. Mead is on his way to Salt, Lake City to attend: an irrigation congress. ■
