A NEW WAIHI UNION.
UNDER ARBITRATION ACT.
FIRST CONSIGNMENT OF COAL
MORE TO; FOLLOW AS
REQUIRED.

Waiht, Thursday. The formation of a new union to be registered under the Arbitration Act is being proceeded with at Waikino.
A preliminary meeting held yesterday was attended by 35 of the workers employed by the Waihi Gold Mining Company. ..
The men were unanimously in favour of the new union, and others since approached have announced their willingness to join. It is understood that it is intended that the new body shall apply to the whole district, and that provision will- be made to include in its membership men' who contemplate working in Waihi.
About 30 tons of coal have been delivered at Waikino from the Huntly mines, and other consignments will be sent on as required by the Waihi Company. It is expected that some of the . coal will be brought on to Waihi in a few days.
