London, August 17. Colonel Fawcett, a well-known explorer, states that the party that is seeking for hidden treasure in Bolivia is wasting its energies.
Thirty years ago, he says, a Bolivian gentleman discovered the Jesuit hoard, and quietly unearthed treasure to the value of £900,000.
A cablegram published last Monday stated that the assets of Arthur Ostesby, a 'bankrupt company-promoter, included a £10,000 share, in supposed treasure valued at £11,000,000, which Jesuits buried at Sacanbaya, in Bolivia in 1767. An expedition is now searching for the treasure.
