By this arrangement a maximum amount of convenience is ensured for the public. It is claimed that nil the clerks employed can issue tickets simultaneously, and the sale is instantly recorded. It is impossible for tickets to be issued without the registration being correct. It can be locked at any instant from the judge's or steward'' box, or any other point, entirely preventing both the further issue of tickets and movements of the counters: this ensuring the sale of tickets right up to the actual starting of each race.
