[BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington". Thursday. A deputation' from the Acclimatisation Societies' Association brought under the notice of the Hon. H. D. Bell (Minister for Internal Affairs) the results of the conference's deliberations. The Minister said that the matters would be favourably considered by the Government, with the possible exception of two recommendations. As regarded that dealing with pea-rifles, lie said that these weapons were a serious evil in the country, and it. was a question whether they should not be stopped altogether, as a public nuisance. With regard to opossums, the interests of (lie farmers should be put first.
