Vanr stormy weather is still prevailing on the. coast, &nd there is no sign of any abatement.' : ' The rain is exceptionally heavy. There are high seas nil along the coast, and,shipping is having a rough time. .; The Manly ferry service has been suspended. Waves swept atid 'demolished the surf bathers' dressing sheds. The sea on the coast is the highest known for twenty years. Vessels arriving report having unpleasant experiences. Many vessels, including some big liners, are standing off, being unable to enter the Heads. The Victorian Government dredge, 193 days out from Rotterdam, has put in if or shelter. She narrowly escaped swamping. BOATS AND BREAKWATERS DAMAGED. AWIMMERA'S SAILING DELAYED. (Received July 15, 9.45 p.m.) Sydney, July 16. , Numbers of boats and motor launches have been smashed or damaged. At Manly a portion of the seawall lias been destroyed. , Se\*eaty pounds worth of lines have been destroyed in attempts to moor the ferry steamers. The Bulli jetty and a large quantity of coal-loading machinery, and the Solitary Island jetty have been washed away. Reports from Newcastle, Wollongdng, and the Clarence River state that the breakwaters have been damaged by the enormous seas. . One or two coasters are overdue. -It is supposed that they are sheltering, , *"■ The-departure "of the steamer Wimmera for Auckland has been postponed until 11 o'clock ~oh Thursday morning; '
